Black Isle was founded in 1998 on the basis of a single core principle – that we can make a range of delicious, organic beers whilst minimising our impact on nature and championing environmental causes along the way.
This ethos has seen us prioritise biodiversity on our organic brewery farm, where we have planted thousands of native trees, created wetland habitats and shunned pesticides and herbicides in favour of insects, wildflowers and weeds.
The brewery farm has enabled us to establish a flourishing connection with our local community. Regular school visits, volunteer days and courses allow us to share the importance of time spent in nature and a sustainable “soil-to-plate” approach to food security. In our market garden, we grow organic, biodynamic fruit and vegetables to supply our craft beer and pizza bars.
