Block design is a British design studio which is still based in Cornwall where they began in 2000. It is female founded and still run by one of the original founders, Tara Ashe.
They produce gifts and homeware for beautiful shops and galleries worldwide. They produce distinctive designs and products made to last.
Products are all designed using sustainability and environmental considerations, they produce some products in house and outsource specialist skills to a great network of suppliers, some of whom they have worked with for over 15 years.
Blocks aim is to design and manufacture products that empower their customers to embrace their creative side. They believe passionately that creativity has a huge potential to be used as a force for good. People working in the creative industries are statistically happier and healthier than in other industries. The Block Design Studio is used as a platform for inspiring disadvantaged students into the creative world. It is also used as a nurturing space to support vulnerable women struggling to get back into the workplace.
