The Muizenberg Festival is an event each October, that will showcase and celebrate community-led development and collaboration. The Festival is made up of projects that are about: • Showcasing solutions to socio-economic and environmental challenges through dynamic design. • Performances and exhibitions that celebrate and share the creative wealth of Muizenberg. This is a community-created event that will inspire and entertain you. Let us make it happen together! The Muizenberg Festival (since October 2014) embodies its sustainable foundation of existing by the people for the people. We envision connecting local creativity in order to put the Muizenberg community and its creativity on the map, supported by the opportunities which the World Design Capital in Cape Town offered (in 2014). The Festival now functions as a fundamental tool for community involvement, transformation and motivation and has become an annual event. Inspiring other suburbs and communities to do the same, will be one of the core values. The Festival is made up of projects with the themes: “Made in Muizenberg”, “Create Muizenberg” and “Celebrate Muizenberg.” Our Festival is a celebration of Muizenberg’s commitment to creative, collaborative, community-led transformation. The Muizenberg Festival is an opportunity to maximise our resources, connections, talents, skills and collective power of our community!
