Greyton Animal Sanctuary Farm
R500
Greyton Animal Sanctuary Farm
Situated just 7 kilometres from the town of Greyton, and at the heart of the Greyton Farm Animal Sanctuary, are two very special and truly unique accommodation options – The 60s Caravan and The Shepherd’s Hut. With sweeping views of the mountain ranges and rolling farm hills, and surrounded by the resident pigs, goats, sheep, geese, chickens and other animals who have found refuge here, guests at the Sanctuary are welcome to explore our 40 hectares of land and home paddock. The owners, your hosts, who live on-site, offer a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and will be delighted to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The caravan, decorated in 60s style, has a large double bed with tempur memory-foam mattress. The Shepherd’s Hut, a charming type of gypsy caravan, can accommodate two guests sharing a double bed, and is a typical studio style English Shepherd’s Hut with pine interior, brass bed and caravan heater. The owner’s house is next to The Shepherd’s Hut, and guests are welcome to make use of the main house’s kitchen and living area, and chill out on the back stoep in hammocks while watching the pigs, sheep and goats go about their day. Guests are also welcome to help out at feeding times with the animals. The sanctuary is off the grid and fully solar powered, and there are separate ablution blocks with hot water showers and composting toilets for both The Caravan and The Shepherd’s Hut. All towels and linen are provided, and there is access to free Wifi. Phones and laptops can also be charged in the main house. Please note that there is a strict no smoking policy in all accommodation at the sanctuary and no animal food products can be brought onto the farm. Animal sponsors can also enjoy a limited number of overnight stays, free of charge.
